I WILL NO LONGER BE UPDATING THIS SITE.... I feel sad in a way. Pay me a visit at: nekoshoujo223.livejournal.com | | |
| Lately my love of Nakayoshi has been revitalized. It might be because I've been really into Michiyo Kikuta's series again. I finally caught up with Shoujo Tenshi Milcute, which I honestly believe is the most adorable thing in the world, and also I was really excited to see Ema Tooyama's new series. So I found it was something of a shock to see the above image on the Nakayoshi website. Although I had heard plans of a Shugo Chara! anime, this was the first time I had seen an image from the series which will air this October. To be honest I haven't read all the much of this series even though Del Rey licenced it quickly and volume one is already out in the US. But it's current one of- if not the most- popular series currently running in Nakayoshi. Despite only having four tankobon out in Japan (the fourth one comes out next month), Shugo Chara! is newest in a recent trend of Nakayoshi titles recieving anime adaptions (there was Sugar Sugar Rune, and Mamotte! Lollipop, then Ghost Hunt, and Kamichama Karin). Although, as I had mentioned previously, in a blog entry a while back, it was obivious that this series would have an anime adaption. It's popularity aside, Shugo Chara! was artist group Peach-Pit's first real attempt at shoujo and since all their other series saw anime versions, it stood a really good chance Shugo Chara! would as well. | | |
| Well, Tokyopop has revealed their plan for the the first half of 2008. ANN has listed the 38 new series TP will release between January and June. So far I am most excited by the list of titles previously licenced by ADV mainy Boku to Kanojo no XXX which I loved and was very sad to see dropped back in '04. Also Aria comes out in January. Although I already own the first three volumes (published by ADV) so I won't actually be buying it for awhile. Another fun announcement was The Twelve Kingdoms novels a la paperback edition. I'll be getting those for sure along with V.B.Rose and Gakuen Alice. It's good to see something like this, it certainly makes me hopeful for the new year!

| Well it has been a long time since I was active on xanga. I blame LJ because I forgot how addicting that website can be and I'm connecting with a bunch of old friends through the site right now. Anyway, this is officially my last week of school and Wednesday and Thursday are just finals, so I get the feeling the whole thing is going to just blow by really quickly. After this week I should have a little more free time (a little...) so I'll actually be updating my xanga daily again.
New things I hope to include on the site this summer: + Much more complete anime episode summaries (with screenshots) + Manga reviews + Some actual blogging about my real life offline + Summer movie reviews + Photographs + Cosplay Progress Log (with photos)
Here's to a new happy and healthy summer!

| This is not really final news, but it means big news for my life, so I call it a big deal. After 11 years of enjoying a normal education with all four classes year after year (math, science, english, history) I might be taking an... offbeat senior year. I recently had a very eye opening talk with my school councilor, Mr. Jahn, in which we came to a daring conclusion- I don't really like school, so why am I so hell bent on continuing the way I am now? Instead, in one conversation we took a look at what my strengths actually are... and Mr. Jahn was actually trying to get me to think about art school. They was a moment of stunned silence before my mom and I both said: "pff... no way!" Mr.Jahn looked very confused even after I explained that my artistic abilities weren't really art school ready. It was nice to hear that he thought so. Anyway, so after all that we began talking about my summer plans which include a trip to Johnson & Wales to take part in their cooking program to high schoolers. I had mentioned baking to him once before, but I guess he though I was kidding or something. So then he asked why I didn't apply to my school's Culinary Arts program, and explained that was one of the things I had regretted not doing why I signed up for senior classes. He said even though the deadline had passed, he thought I could have a chance of getting it because two accepted students opted not to go. I never really imagined that I'd spend the bulk of my senior year cooking and baking, but then since it seems to be what I want to do in future- why not?
I'm actually really lucky that they're even thinking of taking me since I signed up late and all, but then maybe this is an act of fate. Even though nothings set it stone. Although it made me really happy I'm going to a school that offers programs like this. And the culinary arts program here is a big deal. We even have our own student run restaurant called The Hideaway. It's very popular among students, teachers, and even the public!
Here's to hoping I really get accepted!
